Bow Wow who was born
Shad Gregory Moss on March 9, 1987 in Reynoldsburg Ohio is a multi-platinum rapper and award winning actor. His father left the family and his mother worked three jobs to support him. Bow Wow was five when he began his career in rap using the nickname
"Kid Gangsta". In 1993, he performed at a Chronic Tour show in Columbus, and was given the name
"Lil Bow Wow" by
Dr. Dre. Dre later hired him as an opening act for the show, and officially gave him a spot on the
Death Row Records roster. By 1998, Bow Wow was introduced to
Jermaine Dupri (award winning record producer and owner of So So Def Records) who helped him shape his career.
Since 2000, Bow Wow has graced the US Top 100 20 times and has sold over 7 million records. Releasing
"Beware of Dog" in 2000, Bow Wow was the youngest rapper to ever go platinum, let alone 3X platinum. Since then, he has released 4 more albums and starred in 5 movies, and various tv roles including
Moesha,
The Steve Harvey Show and
Smallville. His current album,
"The Prince of Fame" is currently gold and he is already hard at work on his next album
