Linkin Park started in 1996 with a few high school friends from Los Angeles and has since made quite a name for themselves in the nu-metal genre. Their first big break came with their debut album, 2000's
“Hybrid Theory”, selling over 24 million copies. Current band members include Chester Bennington (Lead Vocals), Rob Bourdon (Drums), Brad Delson (Lead Guitar), Dave "Phoenix" Farrell (Bass Guitar), Joe Hahn (Turntables, Samples, Beats), and Mike Shinoda (Lead Vocals, Guitar, Keyboard, Samples).
After the success of
“Hybrid Theory,” including winning a best hard rock performance Grammy and starting their own tour called Projekt Revolution, the band released a remix album,
“Reanimation” (2002). This was followed by
“Meteora" (2003), which debuted at number one on the Billboard charts. Linkin Park's third studio album is set for release May 15, 2007 in the US.
