Incubus, an alternative rock band from Calabasas, California, started in 1991 with schoolmates Brandon Boyd (vocals), Jose Pasillas (drums), Mike Einziger (guitar), and Alex Katunich (bass). Gavin Koppell joined in 1995 but was replaced by Chris Kilmore (turntables) in 1998. Katunich was also replaced by Ben Kenney (guitar) in 2003.
After releasing their first full length album,
Fungus Amongus (1995), Incubus toured in 1996, was signed by Immortal/Epic Records, and released
Enjoy Incubus in early 1997.
S.C.I.E.N.C.E. (1997) was their second studio album and they toured with
311 to promote it.
Make Yourself (1999) was the bands first big break when they started receiving radio air time for "Pardon Me" and then "Stellar." "Drive" hit # 1 on the Modern Rock Charts.
Morning View (2001) yielded "Wish You Were Here."
A Crow Left of the Murder... (2004) and
Light Grenades (2006) combined Incubus' experimental tastes with mainstream rock.
